Description:
This is an order from a federal district judge in the Southern District of California to show cause regarding the remand of a case he thinks has been improperly removed to the Southern District instead of the Central District of California. A case is "removed" if it is filed in state civil court when it could have been filed in federal district court. Only the defendants can remove it, and only have 30 days to do so. If its improperly removed, you might get an order like this. The order cites cases that talk about the effects of improper removal. Be careful in removal notices. You must not only allege why a case was removed, but why venue is proper.
